Leopard with a Zebra foal kill in a tree. The day was drawing to a close and the storm clouds were gathering and the wind was picking up in Lamai in the northern Serengeti. The sky looked most impressive! It was time to think about returning to camp. But something in a distant tree caught our eye. It was a beautiful female leopard with a zebra foal high up in the tree. As we approached it was also evident that she had a second kill close by on the ground – a Wildebeest calf. Fortunately, the Leopard moved the Zebra foal carcass into a more open part of the tree and started to enjoy the fruits of her endeavours. She stopped eating and moved further down the tree. In an instant she had jumped down from the tree and raced off. What had she seen that had spooked her so? There was a large male Leopard in the area. Had she seen him? Impossible to tell. However, she settled down in the grass and began grooming. At this point it was time to leave before the rain came. Very exciting to see a Leopard with a Zebra foal kill in a tree with impressive storm clouds as a backdrop. The final clip is the elusive male leopard seen the previous day.
