A magnificent male cheetah (Milele) on the prowl. In Kenya’s Maasai Mara we were fortunate to find Milele looking as though he was hunting. He had been spotted by the nearby Grant’s Gazelles, Topi, Ostrich and Wildebeest so it didn’t look as though he would have a chance. He scent-marked a tree and then set off after a family of Warthogs, no doubt targeting a youngster. He stopped and we wondered why until we saw a Hyena nearby. There was no point in Milele catching a young Warthog because the Hyena would have stolen it immediately. So he went and lay in the shade for a while, still constantly scanning. We left him at this point. So good to have spent a long time with a magnificent male Cheetah.
