A male Cheetah marks his territory. In the open plains of Kenya’s Maasai Mara we found this handsome male Cheetah (called Milele). He had been trying to hunt Topi but had been seen from a great distance so he gave up and concentrated on scent making an isolated Boscia tree. He walked round and around the tree sniffing it and scratching the ground near the tree. He then reached up, stretched and on dropping down sprayed the tree for quite some time. He had definitely left his mark! He then wandered off into the long grass. Quite something to witness as a male Cheetah marks his territory.
