Huge male Lion roaring as the storm clouds gather. The day was drawing to a close in the Naboisho Conservancy of Kenya’s Maasai Mara. Dark clouds had been rolling in for some time heralding a significant storm. We found members of the Breakaway likisiausiau pride of lions sitting amongst some bushes. A huge male lion knowns as Limpy was lying out in the open and some of the cubs had been interacting with him. As we watched he suddenly began to roar and some of the more distant members of the pride joined in. It was amusing to see the reaction of two of the cubs lying nearby. They leapt to their feet and ran away as the roaring got louder and louder. What a wonderful setting to hear a huge male lion roaring as the storm clouds gather. It was time to leave before the storm arrived.
