A huge male lion yawns at sunset. We had spent a long time with this huge male called Osupat in the Olare Motorogi Conservancy in Kenya’s Maasai Mara. He had been following a female and mating with her regularly. She was with him on the brow of this hill as the sun began to set. With wonderful clouds and a colourful sky, he obliged by standing up and yawning, providing a lovely silhouette. Watching as a huge male lion yawns at sunset was one of the highlights of the day!
