A Leopard and her cub are reunited. The previous evening we had spent some time with a leopard and her cub as they rested in a tree in the Mara North Conservancy, Maasai Mara. They had both come down from the tree as the light was fading and headed off to hunt. Early this morning we decided to see if we could find the pair once more. Just as it was getting light we found the female leopard but there was no sign of the cub. The female called for her cub for a long time without moving. We were worried because there had been reports of lion action in this area last night and we feared for the cub. Eventually the female Leopard set off walking through the long grass calling as she went. The longer this went on the more worried we became. We hoped the cub was OK. Then all of a sudden the cub came bounding along through the long grass and greeted its mother. They then set off together. It was such a relief to see a leopard and her cub reunited. Phew. This had turned into a very nice encounter.
