At a Masked Weaver’s nesting site – Maasai Mara, Kenya 2025

At a Masked Weaver’s nesting site. Driving along the lugga in the Olare Motorogi Conservancy in Kenya’s Maasai Mara we could hear the call of the Masked Weaver around a bend in the lugga. As we turned the corner, the nesting site came into view. Several nests were hanging from a small Acacia tree at the side of the lugga. Male Masked Weavers were coming and going from the lugga bank to the nests. With their black heads and bright yellow feathers on the body they are a strikingly beautiful bird. The occasional female could be seen near the nests. Lovely to spend time at a Masked Weaver’s nesting site.
