Bison gather in the valley. It was a glorious day in the Northern range of Yellowstone National Park: blue sky, very cold, glistening snow and no wind. The silence was magical. We spotted a herd of bison on the brow of a hill as they began to walk and then run to reach the rest of the herd in the bottom of the valley. A true winter wonderland with snow covered trees and bushes. As the bison ran one could see their breath in the cold air. As bison gather in the valley the views were stunningly beautiful. It is wonderful to see herds of bison in the wild open spaces of Yellowstone.
