Bonding session between two male lion. Early in the morning in the Olare Motorogi Conservancy in Kenya’s Maasai Mara we came across these two male lions of the Acacia pride. They were six year old brothers and after their initial greeting they spent a long time rolling around together, strengthening the bond between them. There was a third brother nearby but he did not participate in the bonding session. The three brothers are an impressive and very powerful coalition. This bonding session between two male lions is a crucial part of maintaining and strengthening the coalition. Very striking to see these two powerful males together whilst Wildebeest and Thompson’s Gazelles went about their daily routines.
