Cheetah and a rainbow. Early in the morning in Kenya’s Maasai Mara the clouds had been threatening rain and indeed we had a light shower. As we scanned around we spotted a female Cheetah sitting on a termite mound on the look out for prey. There were impala, and gazelles all around so the Cheetah set off for a hunt. We followed her for several hours with the sky looking ominous most of the time but creating nice rich light. As she moved across an open plain, a rainbow appeared. A lovely setting to watch this most elegant of big cats. She did try and chase some gazelles but the hunt came to nought.
