Cheetahs on an Impala kill are joined by lots of vultures. In the Naboisho Conservancy, Maasai Mara, Kenya, we had watched as this cheetah had taken down an Impala and then fetched her four, six month old cubs to enjoy their first substantial meal in several days. Fortunately, they were not bothered by hyenas which often steal the spoils of a cheetah hunt. But after a couple of hours of eating, the vultures became aware of what had happened and they started to assemble near the scene waiting for the cheetahs to leave the carcass. It was fun to watch as one of the cubs tried to chase away the vultures. Fun and games will always happen when cheetahs on an impala kill are joined by lots of vultures.
