Elephant herd with a tiny calf. Coming towards the end of the day in the Olare Motorogi Conservancy and close to Kicheche Bush Camp we came across this herd of elephants with a very small calf. It was always close to its mother and the rest of the herd made sure, for the most part, it was protected from danger by keeping it in the middle of the herd. We could hear the elephants ripping up the long grass as they slowly made their way along. All the time we were serenaded by the sounds of Bell frogs. The frogs were enjoying all the torrential rain we had experienced over the preceding several days. What a treat to watch this elephant herd with a tiny calf. Such gentle giants.
