Elephants on the dusty bed of Lake Amboseli. It was hot and windy as we made our way across the dried up bed of Lake Amboseli, Kenya. In the shimmer ahead we spotted a herd of elephants heading towards us. We waited for them to get closer and then spent quite sometime in their company. They were having dust baths and as they moved their feet the dust was picked by the wind and carried away. They were very relaxed and eventually moved off past us. Gentle giants! Elephants on the dusty bed of Lake Amboseli is an iconic image from this region.
