Fight between two male lions.
The lion population is huge in the Naboisho Conservancy of Kenya’s Maasai Mara. In the early morning light we found these two males: father and son. The father was trying to impress on his son the need to leave the pride and go his own way. The son was clearly submissive to his father snarling when his father came close. The father began to roar and another lion some distance way replied with the same. A lioness was lurking in the background and had been mating with the father. Quite a sight to witness. The volume of the snarling and roaring was most impressive. A shame a plane flew overhead just as the action began. It is hard to beat a fight between two male lions. The snarling and roaring gives an impression of the power of these big cats.
