Fishing Black Bears. Gunnuk Creek, Kake in South East Alaska is a very good place to see Black Bears fishing. The salmon were plentiful and the bears were very active. The bears were being selective with the fish they wanted. Their preference was to eat females because of the highly nutritious roe. They drop the males back into the river.
