Four tiny lion cubs join their mother on the sandy river bank. Lying on the sandy river bed was a lioness with two of her cubs in Mala Mala, South Africa. One of the cubs tried to suckle but was pushed away by a very large paw! We knew she had four cubs and we wondered where the other three were. One by one they emerged from the reeds. The first one rubbed heads with its mother whilst the other tried to suckle but was pushed away. Clearly this lioness was in no mood to nurse her cubs. So they all settled down to rest in the warming rays of the sun. Such a peaceful scene as four tiny lion cubs join their mother on the sandy river bank.
