Leopard leaves her kill high in a tree and goes for a walkabout. In the Olare Motorogi Conservancy in Kenya’s Maasai Mara, A female leopard (known as Natito) had stashed her Thompson’s Gazelle kill in a tree. She would come back to the kill over a few days until it was finished. This was good news for us since we could reliably find her. This day was no exception. We arrived at the tree and immediately saw that she was eating although there was very little of the gazelle left. Suddenly she stood up in the tree and made her down the trunk and into some bushes. Fortunately, she emerged into the open and walked straight towards us giving us great head-on shots. She walked by us and off into more bushes. It was time to leave her to her day.
