Lion pride in glorious early morning light. It was a misty morning as we set off from Kicheche Bush Camp, in Kenya’s Maasai Mara and there had been heavy rain for the previous several days. As the sun broke through the mist began to lift as we found a lion pride in glorious early morning light. We were later to find out that earlier on they had killed and consumed a topi. As they wandered off to find a resting place for the day, it was lovely to hear the small cubs vocalising and the splashing sound as they walked through the sodden grass. The mist lingered in the background around the trees on the horizon. A lovely encounter with these most impressive big cats.
