Lion pride on a wildebeest carcass during a thunderstorm. Storm clouds had been building all afternoon over the Naboisho Conservancy in Kenya’s Maasai Mara. The rain had started when we found some lions of the breakaway Enesikiria pride finishing up a wildebeest carcass that they had taken earlier in the day. There was much growling as the lions tried to get at the best remaining bits of the carcass. The crunching of teeth on the carcass could be heard clearly. The rain became heavier and thunder echoed around us. Quite a setting with terrific sound effects as we watched a lion pride on a wildebeest carcass during a thunderstorm. Kenyan thunderstorms can be epic!
