Polar Bears play with ice. Polar Bears like to have fun! In Svalbard we saw bears playing with bits of ice on several occasions. I guess there is little else to play with. Although we have sen them playing with drift wood, aerosol cans and fishing gear. It is such a shame that such detritus can be found in what looks like such a pristine environment. We all need to do as much as possible to protect and conserve this valuable habitat for one of the world’s most iconic and threatened species – the magnificent polar bear.
