Tiger at the waterhole. The morning was getting increasingly hot in Ranthambhore National Park, Rajasthan, India. In these conditions, we were hoping to get a sighting of a Tiger sitting in water. As we turned a corner, there in a waterhole was a magnificent Tiger. She was constantly changing position causing lovely ripples in the water. The Tiger drank copious amounts of water. It was fascinating to watch the many small fish that swam around her. After three very impressive yawns she lifted herself out of the water. Her tail generated a nice spray of water. She climbed up the bank and went into the jungle. We were able to follow her for a while. She sprayed against a tree with much of the spray ending up on her own foot. This she shook sending it flying through the air. A magnificent encounter with a Tiger at the waterhole
