Cheetah and her young cubs in the pouring rain. A remarkable feature of our one month visit to the Maasai Mara, Kenya in January and February 2024 was the astonishing amount of rain we had given this is meant to be the hot and dry season. At times we got very wet indeed. But not as wet as this cheetah and her four, six month old cubs! We could see the storm clouds building as we were looking this cheetah family and almost immediately we discovered them in a rocky area with whistling thorn acacias it started to rain. And boy did it rain!! The poor cheetah family looked very miserable as they hunkered down in a violent rain storm. Finding a cheetah and her cubs in the pouring rain close to Kicheche Valley Camp, Naboisho Conservancy was quite an experience. Some of the heaviest rain I have ever witnessed.
