Curious Polar Bear cubs of the year. In Northern Svalbard we had watched a female Polar Bear and her two cubs of the year (COYS) for quite some time. However, they were very distant. Then curiosity got the better of them and they moved closer towards us. They were still some distant away and shimmer from the powerful sunshine on the snow and ice was very pronounced, so filming was difficult. The cubs got a little closer under the watchful eye of mum some few hundred metres away. The cubs put on a very good display for us! What an encounter. Magical Svalbard!
