A Lioness roars. It was a cool day in the Naboisho Conservancy, Maasai Mara, Kenya when we found a pride of lions. The pride was scattered over quite a large area and this lioness was lying on her own in the open. As we watched she started to roar making contact with the other pride lions. The sound was most impressive and her breath was caught in the cool air. It is remarkable to watch and listen as a lioness roars.
