Elephant herd with small calves. This small herd of elephants traversed an opening in the undergrowth as they head for Sand River, Mala Mala, South Africa. It was a very hot day and they were clearly heading for some fresh water to drink and bathe. These gentle giants always impress particularly when one sees an elephant herd with small calves.
